New York Attorney General Letitia James admitted that Judge Arthur Engoron had already determined Donald Trump engaged in “significant financial fraud” before the trial even began.
James has accused Trump and his executives of manipulating the value of his company’s assets to obtain more favorable loans from banks and is seeking $250 million in damages.
“Before this trial even began, the judge ruled in our favor and found that Donald Trump did engage in years of significant financial fraud,” James admitted in a video statement on Friday.
“We uncovered throughout this trial, we revealed the full extent of that fraud. We introduced extensive evidence and questioned more than two dozen witnesses.”
Canadian lawyer David Freiheit, also known as Viva Frei, laid out the implications of James’ remarks and called for her and Judge Engoron to be impeached for denying Trump’s due process rights.
“‘Before this trial even began, the judge ruled in our favor.’ You know what that’s called? That’s called communism. That is called an absolute judicial injustice. She should be impeached. The judge should be impeached. The entire [case] should be thrown out,” he said on X.
